1. Take Profit (TP)
When the market price moves in a favorable direction and reaches the preset profit target, the system will automatically close the position at market price to lock in the current profit.
2. Stop Loss (SL)
When the market price moves in an unfavorable direction and reaches the preset loss threshold, the system will automatically close the position at market price to prevent further losses.
II. Parameter Definitions
1. Trigger Price
When the market’s latest price reaches the user-defined trigger price, the system will activate the Take Profit or Stop Loss conditional order.
This is the key condition that initiates the TP/SL action.
2. Order Price
Once the trigger price is reached, the system will submit a closing order based on the preset order price to execute the TP or SL.
Note:
In periods of high volatility, the actual executed price may differ slightly from the order price.
III. Execution Process
The market price reaches the user-defined trigger price. The system immediately submits a closing order at the order price. The closing order is executed at market price, completing the Take Profit or Stop Loss.
Take Profit Example
Price rises in a favorable direction → Reaches the TP trigger price →
System submits a market sell order → Profit is secured.
Stop Loss Example
Price moves in an unfavorable direction → Reaches the SL trigger price →
System submits a market sell order → Loss is limited.
IV. TP/SL in Cross-Position Mode
In cross-position mode, multiple orders of the same direction and the same asset share one unified position. The platform supports two types of TP/SL settings:
1. Full-Position Take Profit & Stop Loss
Used for unified management of the entire cross-position.
Features:
When triggered, TP/SL will apply to the entire position of that direction. If new orders of the same direction are added, the strategy will automatically apply to the new position as well. Updating full-position TP/SL will automatically cancel previous TP/SL parameters to prevent duplicate settings.
Important:
In cross-position mode, TP/SL settings for new orders default to full-position TP/SL.
If the TP/SL is triggered, the entire position will be closed.
2. Partial-Position Take Profit & Stop Loss
Supports closing a portion of the position by percentage or quantity, providing greater flexibility.
Features:
Each partial TP/SL order exists independently. When updating a partial TP/SL order, the previous related order must be manually canceled to avoid duplicate orders. Suitable for staged profit-taking or step-based risk management.
V. Important Notes
Check your position mode Ensure whether your orders are in cross-position mode to avoid TP/SL unintentionally closing the entire position. Avoid duplicate settings If a TP/SL order is updated, please cancel the previous one to prevent accidental repeated triggers. Set trigger and order prices carefully Market volatility may cause slippage; adjust your price levels with this in mind. Use TP/SL consistently Proper TP/SL usage helps with: Risk control Profit protection Improved trading discipline
